Tae Hoon Kim

Assistant Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women’s Health, School of Medicine

NextGen Focus Area: Reproductive Health

Tae Hoon Kim is using novel mouse animal models and noninvasive imaging to investigate the molecular mechanisms regulating normal uterine physiology and molecular causes of uterine disease including endometriosis, adenomyosis and endometrial cancer. He has examined several signal transduction pathways that play pivotal roles in women’s disease and uterine biology. For example, Dr. Kim found several genes related to women’s diseases and uterine biology by studying mice that had the gene knocked out in one allele in uterine cells.

Precision Health Impact:

  • Understanding the etiology and progression of women’s disease and uterine biology.
  • Developing precision medicine in treating women’s disease.
  • Developing noninvasive imaging for women’s disease and uterine biology.
