Room Reservations

The Roy Blunt NextGen Precision Health building offers a variety of special gathering room facilities for use by faculty, students, staff, and the community. To reserve a room for meeting and other special events, use the EMS website.


Please note: Conference rooms cannot be used as classrooms for course instruction.


Small Conference Rooms (Rooms 2211 and 3211)

The maximum capacity is 10 people, conference style. The room may not be rearranged, and no additional chairs may be added. A laptop accessible television, with HDMI and iShare inputs are available. The Roy Blunt NextGen Precision Health building does not provide additional media equipment, services, or staffing to set or clean-up the room.

    Conference Room Reservation Guidelines and Expectations:

    • We require that you appoint one person from your group to take responsibility for the space reserved.
    • The conference rooms must be left in the condition in which they were found. It is the main contact’s responsibility to set-up, thoroughly clean up, and manage time of the room reserved.
    • Food and beverages are allowed with prior approval from EMS. A $50 fee is charged for this service. If rooms are not thoroughly cleaned and trash removed in the receptacles located in the room or in the hallway, the group will be charged an additional fee of $50 for cleaning.

    Mike & Millie Brown Foundation Visualization Studio

    The maximum capacity is 20 people in the lounge configuration. Intended for more casual conversation and collaboration, the configuration can be changed with your reservation. Fees are associated with this change. The visualization studio is equipped with a 216-inch screen and can be used for meetings and symposia for presentations. HDMI and iShare inputs are available.

    • We require that you appoint one person from your group to take responsibility for the space reserved.
    • The visualization studio must be left in the condition in which they were found. It is the main contact’s responsibility to set-up, thoroughly clean up, and manage time of the room reserved.

    • Additional AV equipment can be reserved though EMS. A charge for each item will be outlined in your reservation.

    Tom & Linda Atkins Family Seminar Room

    The maximum capacity is 48 people in the regular configuration of classroom style (rectangular tables with chairs). The maximum capacity is 124 with chairs only.  A minimum of $100 will be charged to change room configuration to any position other than classroom style. 

    If the request includes banquet tables, they will be rented from an outside vendor and associated fees will be charged. A laptop accessible television, with HDMI and iShare inputs are available. Additional AV equipment can be reserved though EMS. A charge for each item will be outlined in your reservation.

    Atkins Seminar Room Reservation Guidelines and Expectations:

    • We require that you appoint one person from your group to take responsibility for the space reserved.
    • The seminar room must be left in the condition in which they were found. It is the main contact’s responsibility to set-up, thoroughly clean up, and manage time of the room reserved.
    • Food and beverages are allowed with prior approval from EMS. A $50 fee is charged for this service. If rooms are not thoroughly cleaned and trash removed in the receptacles located in the room or in the hallway, the group will be charged an additional fee of $50 for cleaning.

    NextGen Plaza

    The NextGen Plaza and Courtyard may be rented on a per hour basis for your outdoor event needs. Due to the variety of ways the space can be used, please reach out to Samantha Cohen directly to book your event.

    Fees

    All conference rooms are available for use at no cost to NextGen building faculty for faculty lab meetings and small group gatherings related to their lab research.

    All MU faculty, staff, students, and those without an MU affiliation are welcome to reserve conference rooms 2211 and 3211 for a fee.  

    The Visualization Studio and Atkins Seminar Room are available to all MU faculty, staff, students and those without an MU affiliation, and may be reserved at a cost, no matter your affiliation to the NextGen building.

    Faculty are not able to book conference rooms at the NextGen Faculty rates for groups or meetings for other on-campus or off-campus groups.  Applicable fees will be charged to all other MU faculty, staff, students, and community groups using the space.

    *Please note that costs may vary depending on changes to room set up and additions to the space (i.e., food, clean up, set up, IT services, etc).

    Room rates may be discounted for NextGen Precision Health Initiative specific functions as determined by the NextGen Precision Health Initiative Executive Director or Building Director.
