Jae-Wook Jeong’s research focuses on understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms that regulate uterine function and contribute to reproductive diseases, particularly endometriosis, infertility and endometrial cancer. His laboratory investigates steroid hormone signaling, endometrial receptivity, inflammation, fibrosis, epigenetic regulation and tumor progression to identify mechanisms underlying these disorders and develop new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies. His research program integrates human tissues and multi-omics approaches with genetically engineered mouse models and translational large-animal models. A major emphasis of his work is developing clinically relevant models and precision therapeutic approaches for endometriosis-associated infertility and pain, as well as metastatic and recurrent endometrial cancer.
Precision Health Impact:
- Identifying molecular mechanisms and biomarkers underlying endometriosis, endometriosis-associated infertility and endometrial cancer.
- Integrating genomic, epigenomic, transcriptomic and molecular approaches to understand disease development, progression and therapeutic response in gynecologic disorders.
- Developing innovative experimental and translational models, including genetically engineered mouse models, endometrial organoids and preclinical swine models, to study reproductive diseases and evaluate new therapies.
- Developing nonhormonal and precision therapeutic strategies for endometriosis, infertility and endometrial cancer, including targeted molecular therapies and nanotechnology-based approaches.
