The NextGen Precision Health Discovery Series provides learning opportunities for UM System faculty and staff across disciplines, the statewide community and our other partners to learn about the scope of precision health research and identify potential collaborative opportunities. The series consists of monthly lectures geared toward a broad multidisciplinary audience so all can participate and appreciate the spectrum of precision health efforts.
Information about the upcoming talk, including continuing education, is available below.

Precision Health and Implementation Science
In this talk, Dr. Sales describes areas of overlap between precision health and implementation, with particular focus on an emerging related approach called “precision implementation”. Possible effects on the organization and delivery of health services are addressed, as well as some challenges in achieving optimal outcomes. Finally, she discussed how learning health systems approaches can bring these two complementary fields together.
About the Speaker
Dr. Sales is a Professor in the Department of Learning Health Sciences, School of Medicine, University of Michigan, and Research Scientist at the Center for Clinical Management Research at the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System. Her training is in sociology, health economics, econometrics, and general health services research. She also leads a Partnered Evaluation Initiative funded by the VA Office of Nursing Services, evaluating the implementation and effectiveness of VA national nursing initiatives.
