The goal of the NextGen Precision Health & Neuroscience Science Seminar is to highlight transdisciplinary precision research taking place in the field, provide opportunities for collaboration among researchers to build their own research efforts and promote clinical/researcher activity across the University of Missouri System and our partners.

“Advanced Translational Neuroimaging: Toward Precision Health”
Presented by: Mai-Lan Ho, MD, Professor of Radiology, Vice Chair of Operations and Innovation, Medical Director of Radiology, Physician Director of Radiology Informatics and Division Director of Neuroradiology, University of Missouri
Date: Aug. 21, 4-5 p.m.
Location: Tom and Linda Atkins Family Seminar Room, Roy Blunt NextGen Precision Health Building
Description
Over the past decade, rapid advances in imaging technology have enabled faster, better and more powerful evaluation of anatomy, physiology and disease. Radiology examinations provide a spectrum of longitudinal noninvasive biomarkers to quantify tissue properties at the macro-, meso- and microscopic levels and correlate with patient outcomes.
This talk will provide a broad overview of advanced neuroimaging techniques, including high-resolution, diffusion, perfusion, functional, vascular, elastography, zero-echo, spectroscopy and 7 Tesla MRI. The cases presented will demonstrate the translational imaging pipeline in action, bridging the gap from basic physical principles to practical clinical applications.
Informed utilization of advanced neuroimaging tools promises to elevate precision diagnosis and treatment across the spectrum of neurological disorders. The interdisciplinary neuroscience community at MU will benefit from these novel approaches and collaborations.
